The Yn, having fled from a dying Earth, have charted their own path of exploration to that of Cerria and her followers, searching for a new home. Worshipping the mystical natural powers of the universe, the Yn have travelled to a myriad of planets seeking enlightenment. Every new civilisation they encounter speak in awe of Vyeltyra-B, and of the mysterious and secretive Vyeltyrans — a race that can control time — the chrononsphere. The Yn quickly discover that rather than a path to enlightenment, on Vyeltyra-B a path awaits of a far darker kind.
Understood by the Vyeltyrans as an evolving force, time requires great prowess to control, otherwise it can tear apart the very fabric of your being — your soul from your body. The Vyeltyrans have devised a series of rites of passage all must undergo. These rites are designed to test control of your thoughts and memories across time, and of your spiritual and physical being across multiple intersecting timelines. The leaders of the Yn — Atom, Fiadh, and Ebba — agree to undergo these rites. Initiates progress through a series of chambers for each rite, with each becoming increasingly more challenging.

The mysterious and secretive Vyeltyrans are the only race that can control time — the chrononsphere, understood as an evolving force that requires great prowess to control. To do this, they have devised a series of rites of passage all must undergo. The Rites of Self present a series of personal challenges to control time, whilst the Rites of Awakening open the mind to the enormity of time. The leaders of the Yn — Atom, Fiadh, and Ebba — agree to undergo these rites. They quickly discover that rather than a path to enlightenment, on Vyeltyra-B a path awaits of a far darker kind.
Vyeltyran Rites of Self: I—III
Crynopticon — In the chamber of past lives and the dead, voices of ancient sages from across time awaken and haunt the initiates’ consciousness. Only when brought into unity and the singular message these voices impart is understood can they proceed.
Solitude Chamber — Past, present, and future lives and thoughts of Atom, Fiadh, and Ebba permeate the chamber. The self must be projected outside of time. Fail, and time will collapse, and they will be ensnared in endless solitude.
Sensorium — A single drop of sonic DNA is enough to stir the chamber into action. It splits the initiates being across multiple times and across multiple dimensions. They must reconcile these into a temporal unity or risk their souls being split irreconcilably across the aeons.
Vyeltyran Rites of Awakening IV—VII
Orpflec Polarity — Initiates experience the slowing of time to the point of stasis. Understanding time as a force – a field of interactions — means that when it is in stasis there is only darkness and oblivion.
Valispyr Paradox — A rite of opposites, of movement and stasis, of darkness and light. It reveals a universe of multiple times – of time decaying and time exponentially accelerating — a chamber of clockwork actions on the cosmic scale.
Senasylaq Fold — The endless pulsing of the chrononsphere is finally laid bare. The chamber becomes a vortex of cascading helical activity in which shards of histories from alien races from across time are tossed endlessly around.
Neuristl Dust — The chamber is flooded with neuristl dust, the intoxicating vapour of which, reveals the sublime dark power of eternal cosmic time. Initiates may be tempted to transcend their bodies and succumb to the allure of infinite ecstasy, but only the successful initiates will forego the dark temptation of the neuristl dust and return to their physical bodies to complete their final rite of passage on Vyeltyra-B.
